Barbara Ann Peterson, Urbana, Iowa formerly of West Union, Iowa, January 10, 2018

Barbara A. Peterson, 62, of Urbana, Iowa (formerly of West Union, Iowa) died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her home in Urbana.  Barbara Ann, the daughter of Earl and Leona (Fah) Streif, was born June 20, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa.  She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union.  She graduated from North High School in 1974.

Barbara was united in marriage with Harold Peterson on May 31, 1975.  Two children, Michelle and Dustin were born to this union.  Barbara worked at Signode and the P & P gas station in West Union.  She was also a homemaker.  Barb and Harold moved to the Cedar Rapids area eleven years ago.

Barbara enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, baking, cooking, and travelling to see her son’s family.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Harold Peterson of Urbana, Iowa; two children, Michelle (Dean) Webster of Urbana, Iowa; and Dustin (Jennifer) Peterson of Murrieta, California; five grandchildren, Cole and Caleb Webster; and EmmaLe, Ella, and Evan Peterson; her mother, Leona Streif of West Union, Iowa; siblings, Mary Trewin of Fredericksburg, Iowa; Duane (Mary) Streif of Elgin, Iowa; Jack (Bonnie) Streif of Whittier, Iowa; Mike (Linda) Streif of West Union, Iowa; Paul Streif of Hudson, Florida; Dale “Buck” (Lynn) Streif of West Union, Iowa; Joyce (Bob) McFarlane of Randalia, Iowa; Kathy (Brian) Beane of Hudson, Florida; and Gary “Fruity” (Susie) Streif of West Union, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Earl Streif; and siblings, Lawrence, Helen, Tommy, and Nancy Streif, Gracie Kamaus, and Diane Thorson.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home, West Union, Iowa.

A Memorial Service will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2017 at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home, West Union, Iowa.
