Donna Marie Seitz, 79, of West Union, Iowa formerly of Clermont, Iowa died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society, Postville, Iowa. Donna Marie was born to Andrew and Julia (Kleppe) Molokken on the family farm in Dover Township, Clermont, Iowa on September 21, 1938. She was baptized on October 30, 1938 by Rev. Mona and confirmed on June 29, 1952 by Rev. E.O. Ulring both at the First Lutheran Church, rural Ossian, Iowa. Donna spent many years teaching Vacation Bible School and was also Sunday School Superintendent and led Luther League throughout her younger years. Her Church and ancestors of Norwegian heritage meant a lot to Donna, with her children making it five generations attending First Lutheran Church. Donna attended Dover #6 Country school, which her family still maintains as a historical school and graduated from West Union High School in 1956. After high school Donna went to Rath Packing in Waterloo, working in the order writing office.

Donna was united in marriage with Dale R. Seitz on April 20, 1957 at the First Lutheran Church by Rev. Vallum. To this union three sons and one daughter were born, Scott, Rodney, David and Jodeen. They resided in Jesup, Iowa for several years and then moved to the Elgin and Clermont area. Donna was an Avon and Tupperware Representative while the children were growing up.  She then went to work for the Elgin Canning Company, Tony’s and the Lilac Motel. In 1981 Donna and her niece Diane Seitz Boltz founded the Valley Flower Boutique in Clermont, Iowa.  After several years Donna purchased Diane’s share and for fifteen years she had the job of her life. Flowers were always a big part of Donna life both at work and at home.  She enjoyed visiting with the people who stopped in at the shop, after retiring Donna helped out at the Sweet Repeat Valley Floral Shop.  After selling her shop she founded Granny’s Tours and enjoyed planning bus trips for the community. She belonged to the Farm Bureau Women’s Club, Clermont Community Club, Garden Club, Business and Professional Women’s Club, Fayette County Fair flower supervisor and the Red Hat Ladies of Elgin and Clermont.  She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, singing and playing her piano. She also loved basketball and was a huge Postville Pirate Fan. Donna loved anything to do with all of her grandchildren.
