LaNida Minnie (Glawe) Eberhardt, Elkader, Iowa, November 19, 2018

LaNida Minnie (Glawe) Eberhardt, 94, of Elkader, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader. She was born October 15, 1924, at home, near Clayton Center, to Lucy (Lembke) and Lawrence Glawe. LaNida was also baptized at home on the day of her birth. Her Godparents were Minnie Lembke, Lena Glawe and Elmer Glawe.  She was confirmed in March of 1936, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center, by Rev. Harder from St. Paul’s in Garnavillo. LaNida attended Denmark Country School and Elkader High School, graduating with the class of 1942.

She was united in marriage to LeRoy Louis Eberhardt on November 25, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clayton Center by Rev. D.A. Flesner. Three children were born to this union. Together the couple farmed, and LaNida very much enjoyed working beside LeRoy and being a farm wife. The couple moved to town on Thanksgiving, 1985.

She was a devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkader, where she was a member of Agape Circle. LaNida was always a very gentle, positive soul and added much pleasure wherever she was.

Survivors include her children, Diane (John) Gerken of Cascade,  Dennis (Marlene) Eberhardt of Elkader;  grandchildren, Scott (Maria) Siebrecht, Aaron (Cathy) Siebrecht, Mark Siebrecht, Kimberly (John) Karzen, Jo (Chris) Kajewski, Mike (Kate) Gerken; Stacey (Denny) Meyer, and Jennifer (Jesse) McDannald; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald (Chris) Glawe of Aurora, IL; nieces; nephews and many friends.

LaNida was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; and daughter Elaine Siebrecht.

Visitation: 3 to 7 PM Friday, November 23, 2018, at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Elkader and after 10 on Saturday at the Church

Funeral Service:  11:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Elkader, with Rev. Susan Friedrich officiating.

Interment: East Side Cemetery, Elkader
