Dorothy\u00a0Marie\u00a0Jones, 86, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin formerly of Monona, Iowa died Monday, December 7, 2020 at Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa.\u00a0She was born February 1, 1934 to John and Clara (Lawson) Dundee in Waukon, Iowa. Dorothy attended country school and Waterville High School.<\/p>\n
Dorothy was united in marriage to John Leo Jones on April 11, 1951. For many years she was a wonderful homemaker, raising her family, baking, cooking and canning. There was always apple pie and ice cream, a pan of her famous brownies, or a homemade bun with apple butter to share. Dorothy enjoyed simple pleasures like sitting at the kitchen table visiting with friends and family, entertaining a card game or two, car rides, and going out to dinner with a stop at \u201cthe Boat\u201d before heading home. She was most happy\u00a0spending time with her children and grandchildren. She\u00a0looked forward to her nephew Dennis Dundee (Chris) coming for the weekend when they\u00a0would\u00a0play cards all night.\u00a0Dorothy was employed with Iowa Turkey Products for over thirty years where she created many friendships, including a special friend, Karen Rose. Dorothy\u2019s drive for life is something to be treasured.<\/p>\n
Surviving Dorothy are her eight children, Janet (Don) Stram of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Julie (Doug) Fuller of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, David (Lorna) Jones of Luana, Iowa, Rosemary Clark (Dave Martin) of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Joe Jones (Shelly\u00a0Stovey) of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, Kevin Jones of Monona, Iowa, Jeff (Robin) Jones of Monona, Iowa and Amy Arneson (Ken Jahnke) of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and\u00a0many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, John and Clara Dundee; husband, John\u00a0Leo\u00a0Jones in November 1992; one son in infancy, John Milo Jones; and five siblings; brothers Roland, Curtis, Duane,\u00a0Dean Dundee and a sister\u00a0Betty\u00a0Hawkins.<\/p>\n
A Private Family Service will be held at Leonard-Grau funeral Home in Monona, Iowa.<\/p>\n
Burial will take place at Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.<\/p>\n
