He was born December 28, 1929 to Carl Roger and Helen (Rockhold) Kindred in Lamoni, Iowa. Billie attended country school through the eighth grade.<\/p>\n<p>Bill proudly joined and served in the United States Army. On October 22, 1985, Billie was united in marriage with Judith Johnson. Throughout the years he drove truck, was a farmer, worked maintenance at Washington Hospital, and was a greeter at Walmart. Bill was known as a true gentleman. Bill enjoyed fishing, traveling, and gardening.\u00a0 He was a penny pincher, very hard worker and loved to go out to eat.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving Billie are his wife. Judith Kindred; daughter, Rhonda Chorpening of Washington, Iowa; and his siblings, Kate Ahrens of Quincy, Illinois, Norma Stutzman of Buffalo, Missouri, Maggie (Bob) Elliott of Iowa City, Iowa, Gary Dickerson of Quincy, Illinois and Mike Dickerson of Muscatine, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his sons, Bill Kindred and Steve Kindred; parents, Carl and Helen Kindred; and his siblings, Ruby (Bob) Liechty, Lois (Jim) Drayfah, Carl (Lou) Kindred and Jean (Oren) Black; brothers-in-law, Johnny Ahrens and Hubert Stutzman; and step-father, Claude Dickerson.<\/p>\n<p>Burial with Military Rites will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Billie Oliver Kindred. 91, of McGregor, Iowa died Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Mayo Health Systems in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
