Robert Allen Hamann, 72, of Marquette, Iowa died Monday, July 26, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones at his home. Robert was born on November 21, 1948 to Edward and Juniver (Bruehahm) Hamann in McGregor, Iowa<\/p>\n
Robert was united in marriage with Bernadine Shefelbine. One daughter was born to this union, Pamela Marie.\u00a0 They later divorced. Robert worked various job until going into law enforcement, which he served for thirty-seven years. Throughout the years, Robert worked for McGregor and Marquette Police Departments, before going to work for Strawberry Point Police Department. Robert then became an investigator for the Clayton County Sheriff Department before returning to McGregor where he became Chief. During that time, Marquette and McGregor combined forces and became Mar-Mac. Robert then became the Clayton County Sheriff for eight years. He finally finished out his career as a bartender at Pocket City Pub in McGregor Iowa, where he met a lot of friends and told many stories. Robert also served twenty-nine years on the Fire Department and twenty years on the Ambulance Service.\u00a0In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing, doing crossword puzzles, working on his yard and having bonfires while spending time with his family<\/p>\n
Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Edward and Juniver\u00a0Hamann; and one brother, Edward Hamann.<\/p>\n
Robert is survived by his daughter, Pam Hamann of Marquette, Iowa; three, grandsons, Bobby (Rachael) Stoeffler of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Travis (Casey) Stoeffler of Random Lake, Wisconsin and Andrew Stoeffler of Marquette, Iowa; two great grandsons; two great granddaughters;\u00a0two sisters, Carolyn Weipert and Gloria Bird;\u00a0sister-in-law Marilyn Hamann; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021<\/strong> at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in McGregor, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Friday.<\/p>\n Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 6, 2021<\/strong> at First Congregational United Church of Christ in McGregor, Iowa with Rev. William Gentry as the officiant.<\/p>\n Inurnment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor, Iowa.<\/p>\n Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation of McGregor, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Robert Allen Hamann, 72, of Marquette, Iowa died Monday, July 26, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones at his home.
