{"id":12691,"date":"2022-03-01T14:51:12","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T20:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/?p=12691"},"modified":"2022-03-07T08:47:19","modified_gmt":"2022-03-07T14:47:19","slug":"sherry-lynn-king-sioux-falls-south-dakota-formerly-of-west-union-iowa-march-1-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/lab\/2022\/03\/sherry-lynn-king-sioux-falls-south-dakota-formerly-of-west-union-iowa-march-1-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Sherry Lyn King, Sioux Falls, South Dakota formerly of West Union, Iowa, March 1, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-small_image wp-image-12706\" src=\"https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/King-Sherry-Family-news-pic-250x262.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/King-Sherry-Family-news-pic-250x262.jpg 250w, https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/King-Sherry-Family-news-pic-286x300.jpg 286w, https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/King-Sherry-Family-news-pic-400x420.jpg 400w, https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/King-Sherry-Family-news-pic-68x71.jpg 68w, https:\/\/graufuneralhomes.com\/lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/King-Sherry-Family-news-pic.jpg 545w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sherry Lyn King died on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 after a battle with lung cancer.\u00a0 Sherry was born on April 8, 1953 to Lyle and ElDonna Kurth Looby in Postville Iowa.\u00a0 She was baptized and confirmed at Gunder Lutheran Church. \u00a0 She graduated from Postville High School in 1971 and attended the University of Northern Iowa.\u00a0 She graduated in May of 1978.<\/p>\n<p>On March 28, 1981, she married Arnold King Jr.\u00a0 They later divorced.\u00a0 They had two sons, Jason and Cody.\u00a0 Sherry worked at Northern Engraving in Waukon and then decided to stay at home and raise the boys.\u00a0 In April of 1997, she went to work at Bostrom\u2019s grocery store for 23 years, continuing on as it became Moore\u2019s Foods and Quillin&#8217;s Foods.<\/p>\n<p>Sherry loved spending time with her grandchildren.\u00a0 She loved doing search a word puzzles and was an avid reader and collected cookie jars.<\/p>\n<p>In March of 2020, she moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to be closer to two of her grandchildren, Liam and Patrick.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors are sons, Jason (Natasha) King of Sioux Falls and Cody (Angela) King of New Bremen, Ohio; three grandchildren, Liam and Patrick King and Kristin King as well as her brothers, Randy Looby, Terry Looby, Ricky Looby, Lanny Looby and her sister, Tammy Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Preceding Sherry in death were parents, Lyle and ElDonna Kurth Looby; grandparents, Charles and Althea Lembke Looby and Eldon and Ella Koopman Kurth\u00a0 and niece, Annissa Lyn Schroeder.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in West Union, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa with Rev.
