Diane Barbara Dickman Christenson, 82, died Monday, August 15, 2022, at her home in Monona IA.\u00a0 Diane was born September 5, 1939, in Monona IA, baptized October 1, 1939, she was confirmed May 21, 1953, and all of Diane\u2019s church acts were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona IA. \u00a0\u00a0She graduated from MFL High School in 1957.\u00a0 During her high school years, she loved playing basketball and received honors in Tennis and Softball.\u00a0 After graduation she packed her bags and moved to Minneapolis.\u00a0 She got a job as a secretary for an insurance company then soon after met her husband of 32 years, Jimmie D. Christenson.\u00a0 From this union one daughter, Sara Lee, was born September 22, 1961.\u00a0 Jim and Diane relocated back to Iowa in 1982 to help family and then took ownership of the Colonial Motel in 1984.<\/p>\n
Diane enjoyed spending time with her coffee circle of friends.\u00a0 Diane was a charter member of the St. Paul\u2019s Bell Choir which she was so proud of.\u00a0 She loved frequent family functions and treasured her visits and trips with her sisters.\u00a0 Diane was a #1 fan to the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings, and the Minnesota Twins.\u00a0 She could talk \u201csports\u201d with the best of them.\u00a0 She was involved in healthcare; served as an EMT, CNA in Minnesota, worked at Monona Wire, and a resident aide at Walter Schmitt Assisted Living in Prairie du Chien, WI. \u00a0\u00a0Diane was proudest to say she was a Cancer Survivor.<\/p>\n
Diane felt great joy in giving generously no matter what the event.\u00a0 She was as well, a strong willed, independent woman where her character was respected by her family and friends.\u00a0 We will truly miss her spunk and wittiness.<\/p>\n
Diane is survived by her daughter, Sara (John) Wagner of Monona; three grandchildren, Lindsay (Jared) Krambeer of Monona, Caleb Wagner of Monona, Bailey (Curtis) Engen of Giard; three great-grandchildren, \u00a0Nicklaus and Benjamin Krambeer, and Skyler Lin Engen; two sisters, Karon (Jerry) Dahlberg of Taylors Falls, MN, Sharon (Bob) Johnson of Star Prairie, WI; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Arno and Helen Dickman; siblings, Duane Dickman and Marilyn Dickman Pape; one grandson, Seth Tyler Wagner; and a special niece, Nancy Pape Wirkler.<\/p>\n
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 22, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with Rev. Erika Lenth as the officiant. There will be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Monday.<\/p>\n
Inurnment will follow at Monona Cemetery, Monona, Iowa.<\/p>\n
