She was born November 27, 1954, in Monticello, IA, to Glenn and Evelyn (Semmert) Streets.\u00a0 Glennda was united in marriage to Rick Dennler on January 3, 1975.\u00a0 They became the parents of four children.<\/p>\n<p>Glennda graduated from Central City High School in 1973.\u00a0 Following high school, she attended Kirkwood and received her Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising.\u00a0 She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm when needed, but put most of her time into raising their children.\u00a0 Once the children were older, Glennda worked outside of the home at Land\u2019s End from 1994-2004.\u00a0 In 2005, she began work as a para-educator for Central Community School at the elementary level. (Some of her grandchildren were fortunate enough to have her there with them).\u00a0 She retired from Central in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Glennda was a Sunday School teacher, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, volunteered at school, was in a couples and women\u2019s bowling league, was actively involved in her children\u2019s activities and enjoyed time spent as a family.\u00a0\u00a0 Glennda also loved making crafts, especially with her mother-in-law, Ivy.\u00a0 They traveled to many shows and had so much fun.\u00a0 Glennda later opened \u201cThe Granary,\u201d at her home, where she redid furniture and other items.<\/p>\n<p>Glennda was the perfect example of love.\u00a0 She always said that when she was little, all she wanted was to be a \u201cmom.\u201d She was the best mom, wife and grandma.\u00a0 She was so much fun and such a light. She found the good in everything, made family her top priority and loved being a grandma so much. She was her family\u2019s biggest supporter, always looked on the bright side and made everyone feel so loved.\u00a0 She loved her parents more than words and talking about them would bring her to tears. She is now Home with them and at peace.<\/p>\n<p>Those left to cherish Glennda\u2019s memory include her husband, Rick; children Bradley (Shannon) Dennler of Grundy Center, Brandie Erickson of Elgin; Scott (Natalie) Dennler of Columbus City, Heidi (Jeremy) Mueller of Fayette; ten grandchildren, Nicholas and Hannah Dennler, Caden and Payton Erickson, Ivy and Maverick Dennler, Juilus, Alivia, Alexander and Kaspianna Mueller; one great-grandchild, Thomas Cardona and one on the way; brother, Tom Streets, Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Rebbecca (Layne) Tielbar; brother-in-law, Ron (Nancy) Dennler and many nieces and nephews and her sweet pup, Bella.<\/p>\n<p>Glennda was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Andrew and Samuel Dennler; in-laws, Laverne and Ivanelle Dennler and brother-in-law, Randy Dennler.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visitation<\/strong>: 4 to 7 PM on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Elkader and one hour before service time at the church on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funeral Service<\/strong>:\u00a0 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational church in Elkader with Linda Hauschild officiating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burial<\/strong> will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elkader is assisting the family.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Glennda Lee Dennler, 68, of rural Elkader, passed away peacefully at Mercy One Hospital in Elkader Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
