\"\"<\/em>John Irwin Yauslin, 88, of Clermont, Iowa passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 surrounded by his children at Stoney Brook Village, West Union, Iowa. John, the son of Byron and Ruby (Hader) Yauslin, was born October 4, 1935 at home in Clermont, Iowa. John graduated from Valley High School in 1953. During high school he worked as a farm hand for farmers in the Clermont area. He worked at the Clermont Pin Factory for a short time and retired after 40 years as a mechanic at Wilbur Ford Sales in West Union, Iowa.<\/p>\n

John was united in marriage with Janice Larson on September 25, 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Janann, Jeffrey, Jamey and Jerry.<\/p>\n

After his retirement he worked part time helping in Blain Hansons shop and also for Moss Service Center.\u00a0 He was always willing to help anyone if their car was broke down along the road. John was a member of West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont, Iowa. John enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.\u00a0 He also enjoyed the years they spent playing cards in their card club.<\/p>\n

Something John and Janice truly enjoyed being involved in, was their car club with their 1940 Ford.\u00a0 They also took their car to many parades<\/p>\n

He is survived by his children, Janann (Paul) Anderson of Surprise, Arizona, Jeff (Dorty) Yauslin of West Union, Iowa, Jamey (David) Sump of West Union, Iowa, Jerry Yauslin of Westgate, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Dan) Merithew of Aurora, Colorado, Kristin Anderson of Parker, Colorado, Kimberly Anderson of Boulder, Colorado, Jessica (Ron) Heggebo of Vinton, Iowa, Stephanie (Gabriel) Oldfather of Fairbank, Iowa, Christopher (Yun) McChane \u00a0of Woodside, New York, Jeremy (Tonya) Yauslin of Oelwein, Iowa, Carissa (Zachary) Johnson of Hudson, Iowa, Sara MacInnis of West Union, Iowa; sixteen great-grandchildren, Clara VonStroh, Leland, Byron and Coraline Heggebo, Olivia, Aidan and Norah Oldfather, Chloe, Dalton and Kaydence Yauslin, Kendall and Jackson Johnson, Kyra DeVolt and Jocelyn, Isabella and Emerson MacInnis; two brothers, Leslie Yauslin of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Roger Yauslin of West Union, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marlene Yauslin of Elgin, Iowa; brother-in-law, Laverne Larson of Sierra Vista, Arizona and several nieces and nephews and many friends.<\/p>\n

John was preceded in death by his wife, Janice of 49 years; his parents, Byron and Ruby; brothers, Don Yauslin and Richard Yauslin; sisters, Betty Olson, Dorothy Williams, and Lois Luchsinger; brothers-in-law, Alfred \u201cSwede\u201d Boleyn, Donald Gordon, Hubert \u201cHerbie\u201d Williams, Lester Luchsinger and Oliver Larson; sisters-in-law, Janet (Deanna) Yauslin, Vera Janice Yauslin and Linda Yauslin and grandson, Joshua Yauslin.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Monday.<\/p>\n

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Monday, November 27, 2023 at West Clermont Church, Clermont, Iowa with Vicar Mike Erickson as the Officiant.<\/p>\n
