Kathy Ann (Kutzbach) Wagner, 69, of Monona, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse WI, surrounded by a room full of overwhelming love for her.\u00a0 Kathy had a major emergency surgery three weeks prior and her body sustained insurmountable stress.<\/p>\n
Kathy Ann blessed our world with her unmistakable presence on January 31, 1955.\u00a0 She was born to Harland and Shirley (Moon) Kutzbach in Prairie du Chien, WI. \u00a0She was baptized and confirmed at St John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, IA.\u00a0 She grew up on the Kutzbach family farm near Farmersburg, IA. \u00a0She graduated from MFL High School in 1973.<\/p>\n
Kathy worked at Monona Wire, Double L, and 3M until her retirement several years ago.\u00a0 Her family was thrilled when she started dating Jim Wagner. \u00a0After much harassment by her nieces regarding an engagement ring, they tied the knot on May 5, 2007, also at St John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg IA. \u00a0Kathy and Jim enjoyed many road trips to classic car conventions together, and playing cards with friends.<\/p>\n
Anyone who was blessed to know Kathy knew her easy laugh, her love of fun, her ready willingness for an adventure, and her ability to listen.\u00a0 Even with very limited mobility in her final years, she religiously attended all events and family gatherings involving her husband\u2019s family, her brother\u2019s and sister\u2019s families, her nieces and nephews, her honorary nieces and their families, her great nieces and nephews, and even her great-great nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Harland Kutzbach; her mother, Shirley (Moon) Kutzbach; her sister, Karen (Kutzbach) Miene; her brother-in-law Wayne Miene; and her husband\u2019s sister Peggy (Wagner) Brown.\u00a0 She is survived by her husband, Jim Wagner; her brother and sister-in-law Keith (Dixie) Kutzbach; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert (Janita) Wagner, Kenneth (Cheryl) Wagner, John (Sarah) Wagner, and Dennis (Ann) Wagner; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.\u00a0She will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa with Vicar Jeremy Wolfe as the officiant.<\/p>\n
Interment will follow at Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery in Farmersburg, Iowa.<\/p>\n
