\"\"Linda Laverle Meyer<\/strong>, 85, of Elkader, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Elkader Care Center.<\/p>\n

She was born September 1, 1938, on a farm near Volga, to Ralph and Evelyn (Streicher) Crawford. She attended Volga schools, graduating from Volga High School with the Class of 1956.<\/p>\n

Linda was united in marriage to Keith Meyer on February 5, 1957, at Peace Evangelical Reformed Church in Elkader. She became a farm wife and the couple became the proud parents of two sons, Jeff and Scott.<\/p>\n

During high school, Linda worked two summers as a waitress near Sioux Falls, South Dakota and before their marriage, she was a waitress at the Checkerboard Caf\u00e9 in Elkader. She also worked at the Elkader Greenhouse before she owned and operated her own greenhouse on the farm for 25 years. She was a Master Gardner, obviously – loved gardening and reading. She had a garden plot at Osborne Nature Center and even sold dried flowers. Her thumbs were definitely green! Linda was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader.<\/p>\n

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Jeff (Sue) Meyer of St. Olaf and Scott (Tammy) Meyer of Earlville; her four grandchildren, Andrew (Heidi) Meyer, Benjamin (Cari) Meyer, Michael (Jennifer) Meyer, Ashley (Jesse Metzger) Meyer; eight great-grandchildren; sister Joyce Baumgartner of St. Olaf; sister-in-law, Delores Crawford of Arlington; several nieces and nephews and many friends.<\/p>\n

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Keith on September 9, 2012 and two brothers, James and Paul Crawford.<\/p>\n

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4 to 6 PM at Johnson\u2019s Reception Hall in Elkader.<\/p>\n

Private<\/strong> Family<\/strong> inurnment will be held.<\/p>\n
