Shelby Slaughter, 86 of McGregor, Iowa passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at her home. She was born February 18, 1938 to Albert and Mina (Adam) Holden in Iowa. Shelby graduated from high school and was united in marriage with Buddy John Slaughter on August 21, 1955.<\/p>\n
Along with her husband Bud, Shelby helped run the family business, Bud\u2019s Repair. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to garage sales, the casino and to family reunions. She also liked to cook and sing. What brought Shelby the greatest joy in her life was visiting with her friends and family. She loved her children and grandchildren so very much and left many memories for them to cherish.<\/p>\n
Surviving Shelby are her husband of 69 years, Bud Slaughter of McGregor, Iowa; her children, Patricia (Wesley) Kinley, Linda (Corey) Martin, Bobby Slaughter and Greg (Kathy) Tangeman; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and two siblings, John \u201cJack\u201d Holden and Ruth Ann Holden.<\/p>\n
Shelby was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mina Holden; son Buddy John, Jr.; and her siblings, Elven, Melvin, Abbie, Shirley, Eileen, Helen, Marilyn and Eleanor.<\/p>\n
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 12, 2024<\/span><\/strong> at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor, Iowa with Rev.
