Charlie was born August 18, 1966, to Ronald Meyer and Susan (MacMillan) Meyer in Postville, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Charlie graduated from Postville High School and attended Diesel Tech School in Calmar, Iowa.\u00a0 While in tech school, Charlie lived in the Oelwein area and interned at the Oelwein Case Implement.\u00a0\u00a0 After completing school, he moved back closer to home and started working full-time at the Postville Implement.\u00a0 During this time in his life, he met the love-of-his-life, Janell.\u00a0 While dating Janell, Charlie worked at Falb Implement in Elgin, Iowa as a mechanic and Pleggenkuhle Farms near Sumner, Iowa as a hired man on a hog &amp; crop farm.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On June 13, 1992, Charlie was united in marriage to Janell Moser at Illyria Church in Elgin, Iowa.\u00a0 In 1993, they moved to Charlie\u2019s childhood home on Gunder Road south of Postville where they raised three sons.\u00a0 Charlie worked several years driving delivery truck for H &amp; H Food Service in West Union, Iowa and spent five years being a mechanic for Ziegler Inc. in Postville, Iowa.\u00a0 In 2006, Meyer Big Iron Repair (MBI) was established.\u00a0 Charlie was a self-employed heavy equipment mechanic and sold tools and undercarriage parts.\u00a0\u00a0 In 2008, Charlie and Janell took over the farm.\u00a0 Charlie loved planting and harvesting the crops and did his best to extend those times by custom farming.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Charlie had such a love for music and 80\u2019s rock-n-roll music, to be specific!\u00a0 For 10 years, Charlie and Janell entertained as \u201cGoodtime Charlie\u201d and \u201cJumpin\u2019 Janell\u201d singing karaoke.\u00a0 Charlie took guitar lessons with their oldest son, Conrad, for a few years which sparked his interest in playing in a rock-in-roll band.\u00a0 His first band was the \u201cCharlie Meyer Experiment\u201d which led him to the next 3 bands \u201cBad Influence\u201d, \u201cChallenger\u201d, and most recently, \u201cBad Dog 20\/20\u201d.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To say Charlie was one-of-a-kind would be an understatement.\u00a0 He was larger than life \u2013 a man who lit up every room, made every gathering better, and left no heart untouched.\u00a0 Charlie was the kind of person who lived boldly and loved fiercely.\u00a0 He made fast friends and kept them for life.\u00a0 People were drawn to his magnetic personality, quick wit and the way he made everyone feel like they mattered.\u00a0 Charlie was a man of strong faith and was proud to serve alongside the rest of his faith family at St. Paul Lutheran Church.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Surviving Charlie are his beloved wife, Janell Meyer of Postville, Iowa; his sons, Conrad (Abby) Meyer of Cuba City, WI,\u00a0 Elliott (Brooke) Meyer of Hazel Green, WI, Rubin Meyer of Dubuque, IA; Grandchildren, Rhett, Ethan and a baby due in September; Father, Ron Meyer of Postville, IA; Mother, Susan Anderson of New Prague, MN; Siblings, Carol (Doug) Willingham of Salado, TX, Cathy (Randy) Simon of Winterset, IA and George (Liza) Meyer of New Prague, MN; Mother-n-law, Judy Moser of Elgin, IA; Bother-n-laws, Brian Moser of Elgin, IA, Bruce Moser of Elgin, IA, Corey (Kris) Moser of West Union, IA, and Craig (Jessica) Moser of Elgin, IA and several nieces and nephews.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Charlie was preceded in death by his Father-in-law, John Moser; nephew, Brett Anderson; Step-father, Ken Anderson; Great-nephew, Leo Martin, and several beloved pets which included many blue heeler dogs.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa.
