Joanne Frances Donahue Cassutt, 86, longtime resident of Elkader, passed away peacefully\u00a0Tuesday, January 3, 2017,\u00a0at the Elkader Nursing Home. She\u00a0was born\u00a0February 2, 1930, to Mabel (Cronin)\u00a0and Ernest Donahue in Marquette, Iowa. Joanne went to school in Marquette prior to moving to Elkader to work at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.<\/p>\n
She married Raymond Leo Cassutt on\u00a0December 12, 1956. Together they raised two children on the family farm. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and a doting grandmother.<\/p>\n
Joanne worked for many years at the Telephone Company and Theis Clothing. Her main focus though was always her kids, their activities and making a happy home. She and Ray enjoyed many years of fun with the bridge club and extended family. A lot of good times were had at the Cassutt Farm.<\/p>\n
Joanne is survived by her son Daniel (Jennifer) and their children Tyler and Annie; daughter Mary (Jesse) and children Claire and Daniel.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 1996, her parents and brother Ernest.<\/p>\n
Mass of Christian Burial<\/strong>: Friday, January 6, 2017 – 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader with Rev.
