\"\"Robert Gene \u201cBob\u201d Bork, 78, of Postville, Iowa died on Saturday, March, 4, 2017<\/strong> at his home in Postville, Iowa surrounded by his family. Robert Gene was born on June 9, 1938 in Carpenter, Iowa to Walter and Mildred (Koehler) Bork.<\/p>\n

Bob graduated from Cresco High School in 1956. He joined the US Navy in 1957 and served honorably until 1961. He lived most of his remaining years in Postville, Iowa. Bob loved trout fishing with his son, Jim, and enjoyed hunting, bowling and watching golf. He took great pride in caring for his roses.<\/p>\n

Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Bugenhagen) Bork; three children, James Bork of Postville, Iowa, Lonnie Lyngaas of Marion, Iowa and Jodi (Ryan) Koch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, Taneasha Gingerich, Brandon Bork, Dylan Bork, Conner Koch, Rylee Koch and Kaitlin Koch; and great-granddaughter, Sophia Gingerich; sister, Midge Mikesell of Elgin, Illinois and nephew, Karl Mikesell of White Rock, New Mexico.<\/p>\n

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mildred Bork and son, Richard Bork.<\/p>\n

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice of Strawberry Point, Iowa.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 4-7 pm at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Postville, Iowa.<\/p>\n

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel as the Officiant.<\/p>\n

Inurnment will follow at Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa with full military rites.<\/p>\n
