Garry L. Schott, 70, of Eldorado, Iowa<\/strong> passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Gundersen Health Systems in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.\u00a0 Garry Lee, the son of Fred and Ruth (Entwisle) Schott, was born November 7, 1946 in West Union, Iowa.\u00a0 He was baptized on May 25, 1975 and confirmed on April 5, 1981, with his son Troy at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in West Union.\u00a0 He attended school in Clermont, Iowa.\u00a0 Garry farmed near Clermont for several years.\u00a0 He mainly worked as a carpenter for Midwest Buildings in Cedar Falls, Iowa.<\/p>\n

Garry was united in marriage with Kathy Kamaus on November 8, 1964.\u00a0 To this union three children, Troy, Todd, and Aimee, were born.\u00a0 Garry and Kathy later divorced.\u00a0 Garry was then united with Karolyn Moritz, a union that has lasted thirty-six years.\u00a0 As Garry and Karolyn blended their families, Garry gained four children, Tammie, Terrie, Dennis \u201cMick\u201d and Jane.<\/p>\n

Garry served as the unofficial \u201cMayor\u201d of Eldorado and helped wherever he could.\u00a0 He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and tinkering in his garage.\u00a0 He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching western movies.<\/p>\n

Garry is survived by his longtime love, Karolyn of Eldorado; his children, Troy (Judy) Schott of Clermont, Iowa; Todd (Danielle Wagner) Schott of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Aimee (Jon Martin) Schott of West Union, Iowa; Tammie (Dan Becker) Crandall of Elgin, Iowa; Terrie (Kevin) Musland of Elgin, Iowa; and Jane (Mark) Gamm of West Union, Iowa; thirty-eight grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; one brother Willis (Shelby) Schott of Clermont, Iowa; and his faithful companions, Jocko and Jojo.<\/p>\n

Garry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis \u201cMick\u201d Moritz; his brothers, Larry, Duane \u201cSandy\u201d, Art, and Marvin Schott; and his sister, Jane Helgerson.<\/p>\n

Funeral Services<\/strong> will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado.<\/p>\n

Visitation<\/strong> will be held at 4:00 until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 and one hour before services on Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado.<\/p>\n

A Private Family Inurnment <\/strong>will be held at a later date in God\u2019s Acres Cemetery in Clermont, Iowa.<\/p>\n

Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Services of West Union, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.<\/p>\n
