\"\"Robert C. Grahlman, 69, of Postville, Iowa <\/strong>died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Postville.\u00a0 Robert Claude, the son of Claude and Genevieve (Sires) Grahlman, was born January 8, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa.\u00a0 Bob graduated from Waukon High School in 1966.\u00a0 He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War.\u00a0 After his return from the navy, Bob worked for Wayne Farms and then Farm Services in Waukon.\u00a0 He returned to Postville in 1973 and operated a bulk gas\/fuel oil truck until 1980.\u00a0 Bob then worked for Iowa Turkey Products in Postville.\u00a0 After the plant burned down in 2003, he continued to operate the office in Postville before moving to Marshall, Minnesota in 2005.\u00a0 Later in 2005, Bob returned from Marshall and went to work at Gencor in Marquette.<\/p>\n

Bob was united in marriage with Barbara Winke on April 21, 1972 at the First Presbyterian Church in Waukon.\u00a0 To this union two children, Brandi and Brian, were born.\u00a0 Bob enjoyed watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and the Iowa Hawkeyes, and was very knowledgeable about all sports.\u00a0 He enjoyed playing golf and bowling.<\/p>\n

Bob was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, the V.F.W., and Tri-City Golf Course.\u00a0 Bob served on several committees and was a vice president and board member for the Iowa Turkey Federation for many years.<\/p>\n

Bob is survived by his wife, Barb, of Postville, Iowa; two children, Brandi (Matthew) Bachman of Swisher, Iowa; and Brian (Aaron) Grahlman of Marion, Iowa; two grandchildren, Colten and Caden Grahlman; one sister, Susan (Donald) Sommermeyer of Lansing, Iowa; two nephews, Eric (Kimberly) Sommermeyer and Jon Sommermeyer; and two great nephews, Lukas and Karsten Sommermeyer.<\/p>\n

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Genevieve.<\/p>\n

Donations can be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America – Iowa Chapter.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, Iowa with Rev. Gary Catterson as the Officiant.<\/p>\n

Inurnment will be at Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa with Military Rites.<\/p>\n
