Georgia Julia Williams, 96, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, died Monday, August 21, 2017<\/strong> at Traditions Assisted Living in West Union, Iowa. Georgia was born October 9, 1920 to George and Elsie (Garrison) Siegismund at home near Rockville, Missouri. In 1937, she graduated from Rockville High School.<\/p>\n

Georgia was united in marriage with Robert E Merchant in 1940; two children were born to this union. In 1956, she was united in marriage with Raymond F. Williams. Georgia was a lifelong farmer, raising dogs, lambs, geese, chickens, rabbits, pigeons, peafowl, guinea fowl, goats and more. She enjoyed sewing, canning, cloth painting, leather tooling, wood burning, and acrylic painting on canvas. On the Bicentennial Wagon Train Pilgrimage in 1976, Georgia rode as outrider, accompanying Raymond who drove the Missouri Conestoga wagon from Kansas to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Georgia is survived by her children, Robert Larry (Sharyn) Merchant of Roanoke, Virginia and Kara DeLyte (Chris) Ebbers of West Union, Iowa; three grandchildren, Laura Jane (E.W.) Adams of Lynchburg, Virginia, Ariel (Steve) Genheimer of Des Moines, Iowa and Jaron (Anna) Ebbers of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two great grandchildren, Carson Adams and Meira Genheimer; and one sister, Emma Cassidy of Lockwood, Missouri.<\/p>\n

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Williams in 2012; her parents, George and Elsie Siegismund; grandson, Matthew Lawrence Merchant; and her siblings, Sarah Hearting, Dorothy Heiserman, Andrew Siegismund and Aaron Siegismund.<\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association or Palmer Hospice.<\/p>\n

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Rockville United Methodist Church, Rockville, Missouri. There will be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Friday.<\/p>\n

Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, West Union, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.<\/p>\n
