Clifford was born May 10, 1919 to Henry and Matilda (Bunting) Feller in rural Elgin, Iowa. He graduated from West Union High School in 1937.<\/p>\n<p>Clifford joined the United States Navy in October 1940 shortly before the attack on Pearl Harbor. In the Navy he was trained as an electrician. He was discharged In November of 1946.\u00a0 Returning to Iowa, he worked at Rath Packing for a year and then\u00a0was employed by Chamberlain\u00a0Manufacturing\u00a0in Waterloo for thirty-four years until his retirement.<\/p>\n<p>Cliff was an accomplished card player and regularly played pinochle, euchre, and 500 with friends and family. He also enjoyed the black jack table at local casinos and traveled to Las Vegas and Branson Missouri from time-to-time. Fishing was another favorite pastime for Cliff.\u00a0 He enjoyed the small trout streams of northeast Iowa and walleye fishing on the Mississippi. In earlier years he often traveled to Canada with his brothers and nephews to fish.<\/p>\n<p>Cliff was steadfast in his devotion to family.\u00a0 Throughout his mother and sister Glady&#8217;s lives, Cliff traveled to Elgin several times a month to look after their\u00a0house and the yard.\u00a0 In his retirement he enjoyed having free time to visit his brothers and sisters more frequently.\u00a0 In all his years he never missed holiday and family events.<\/p>\n<p>Clifford is survived by eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Matilda Feller; and six siblings, Gladys Feller, Harry Feller, Forest (Bill) Feller, Ethel Maneely, Iola Stannard and Lois Smith.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a private family service.<\/p>\n<p>Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elgin, Iowa is helping the family with arrangements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clifford Henry Feller, 98, of Waterloo, Iowa died Saturday, May 5, 2018\u00a0at Northcrest Specialty Care, Waterloo, Iowa.
