\"\"Ray Alfred Williams, 80 of Elkader, died March 27th, 2019, at the Elkader Care Center after a two week stay.\u00a0 He was born February 21, 1939 to Floyd and Bertha (Willie) Williams.<\/p>\n

He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Handke on December 12, 1959.\u00a0 Four children were born to this union.\u00a0 Together they made their home near Motor Mill where they farmed for many years.\u00a0 Ray also served in the Army before he enjoyed a lifelong career working at John Deere until his retirement.\u00a0 Ray loved to spend his days fishing, coon hunting, and cooking maple syrup.\u00a0 He also enjoyed bluegrass festivals and traveling to National Parks to see the mountains. Above all he valued spending time in the outdoors surrounded by his family.<\/p>\n

Ray is survived by his wife, Shirley of 59 years, his children, Dan (Cheryl) Williams, Connie Kraemer, Gary (Laura) Williams and\u00a0 Brian Williams;\u00a0 six grandchildren, Justin Williams, Jason Williams, Kayla Kraemer, Kyle Kraemer, Lynnette Williams, and Tiffany Williams.\u00a0 Three sisters LaVera Schenke, Jean Morarend, and Gerry Williams.<\/p>\n

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marvin, Ivan, and Julius Williams, sisters Irene Gleason and Faye Wiskus.<\/p>\n

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n
