\"\"June Rose Capper, 88, of Lansing, Iowa formerly of Elgin, Iowa died Friday, August 16, 2019 <\/strong>at Thornton Manor, Lansing, Iowa. She was born June 1, 1931 to John and Julia (Braker) Grimm in Elgin, Iowa. She graduated from Elgin High School, Elgin, Iowa in 1948.<\/p>\n

June moved to Chicago after graduation and was a waitress at Stouffers.\u00a0 June was united in marriage with Lloyd Capper on October 21, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. Four children were born to this union, Vikki, Jack, Sue and Betsy. During these years June was a very busy homemaker spending her time gardening, canning, sewing clothing for her kids and later grandkids.\u00a0 She loved her family and spent time camping and fishing, waterskiing and ice fishing and when grandchildren came babysitting. She was an excellent cook hosting many Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations.\u00a0 She baked and made candy that everyone enjoyed.\u00a0 In her spare time she loved to read and do crossword puzzles.\u00a0 She even took a shop class and built furniture for the home.\u00a0 In 1969 she went to work for Northern Engraving eventually becoming the first female Foreman at Northern Engraving.<\/p>\n

June is survived by her children, Vikki (Ken) Brauer of Hudson, Iowa, Jack Capper of Douds, Iowa, Sue (Frank) Wise of DeLand, Florida and Betsy (Tim) Stahl of Lansing, Iowa; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters,\u00a0 Marie (John) Bickford of California; Bessie Mason of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dorothy Anderson of Elgin, Iowa and Alice Dhamers of Moline, Illinois, Verna Farrance of Rock Island, Illinois; brother-in-law, Stanley (Gail) Capper of Wichita, Kansas and sister-in-law, Pat (Tracy) Anderson of Kalona, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n

June was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents, John and Julia Grimm; brothers and sisters-in-law Lawrence (Effie), Harold (Margaret) and Lester and sisters and brothers-in-law, Pearl (Hilary) Woytash, Margaret (William) Price and Mabel (Albert) Bessler. Her in-laws Norris and Florence Capper and brother-in-law James Leland Capper.<\/p>\n

A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elgin, Iowa with a one hour visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 pm before services at the funeral home on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Burial will follow at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.<\/p>\n
