\"\"Kathy Lynn Miller, 70, of Waterloo (formerly of West Union, Iowa), died on Wednesday, October 16, <\/sup>2019 at Mercy One Hospital and Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.\u00a0 Kathy, the daughter of Daniel and Rosemary (Leitch) Hanson, was born on April 12, 1949 at the West Union Hospital.\u00a0 She was baptized and confirmed at the West Union Methodist Church.\u00a0 She graduated from North High in West Union, Iowa in 1968.<\/p>\n

Kathy was united in marriage to Ronald Miller in 1968.\u00a0 They were later divorced.\u00a0 Their son Shane was born on September 24, 1968 and he passed away April 28, 1993.\u00a0 Kathy was a military wife and the family was stationed in Maryland, Georgia, Chicago and Germany.<\/p>\n

She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake (her specialties were cookies and penuche) and she generously shared her treasures with others.\u00a0 She was employed in the bakery at the Prairie View Care Facility when she lived in West Union.\u00a0 She was a big fan of Kenny Roger\u2019s music, loved to watch CSI and other detective shows, was an avid runner in earlier years, enjoyed sunbathing, and loved spending time with her beloved pets, faithful friends and family.<\/p>\n

Kathy will be missed by her siblings: Olivia (Duane) Pleggenkuhle of Hawkeye, Iowa; Daniel (Jan) Hanson of Cedar Falls, Iowa;\u00a0 Mark (Judy) Hanson of West Union, Iowa and Brent Hanson of West Union, Iowa; Shane\u2019s children, Ashley, Gabrielle, Anthony and Patrick; her best friend, Tim Taylor of Waterloo, Iowa; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; Aunt Isabell Wegner of Des Moines, Iowa and many cousins.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her son Shane Miller and her parents, Daniel and Rosemary Hanson.<\/p>\n

Kathy\u2019s celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in West Union, Iowa.\u00a0 Rev. Chris Ebbers will be the officiant.\u00a0 The family invites you to join them an hour before the service, for the celebration and at the fellowship lunch following the service – at the church.<\/p>\n

Burial will be at the West Union Cemetery, West Union, Iowa \u2013 after the fellowship lunch.<\/p>\n
