He was the third child of four children born to Alfred and Ina Ruckdashel, born on October 13, 1932 in Elgin, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>During Clarence\u2019s high school years, he played football. \u00a0After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 2, 1952<\/p>\n<p>Clarence met Beverly Florence Nelson at a high school ball game in 1952 and were united as husband and wife on October 10, 1953.\u00a0 They moved to Amarillo AFB, Texas where he was stationed in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic General Jet Tech.\u00a0 He then was transferred to Germany as an Aircraft Mechanic Instructor in May,1956 and Beverly moved back to Clermont, IA.\u00a0 He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force on December 1, 1956.\u00a0 They then bought a farm in Clermont, IA where they worked the farm in together until August 1970. \u00a0To this union six children were born.<\/p>\n<p>After moving to Arizona in August 1970, he worked for Roeloff\u2019s Dairy in Mesa until 1977.\u00a0 They then moved to Trona, California, where he worked for Kerr McGee Chemical Plant until they retired in 2003 and they moved back to Arizona to be closer to family. They then went to work for mobile home sales to have something to do part-time until Beverly got angry and quit their job! He was very devoted to his wife, Beverly.\u00a0 When she was placed in an assisted living with dementia as he could no longer care for her, he would take a taxi every day to see her, no matter how hot it became! His favorite past time all his life was reading.\u00a0 In his later years, reading became a challenge as he had macular degeneration and was close to being blind.\u00a0 We bought him a computer tablet and increased the font so he could read.\u00a0\u00a0 He also loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grand kids.\u00a0 He was loved by his wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids very much!\u00a0 He will be missed but never forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by their children, Janice Kay Disbrow (Ruckdashel), Larry Eugene Ruckdashel, Brenda Lea (Jeffrey) Roepke (Ruckdashel) and Thomas Wayne (Michelle) Ruckdashel; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, brother-in-law\u00a0 Ad (Diane) Nelson and sister-in-law Ardell Fortune (Nelson); and\u00a0 two cousins Anna (Gene) Meyers; Francis Winters and Pat Toussaint, two nieces, Sharon (Dick) Hartley and Marvette (Dick) Shelofontiuk\u00a0 and nephew, Philip (Jaynee) Ruckdashel.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Florence Ruckdashel in 2018; his parents, Alfred and Ina Ruckdashel; sister, Florence (Hollis) Lancaster; brothers: Merle Ruckdashel and Robert Ruckdashel; sister-in-law Arlene Ruckdashel; brother-in-law Hollis Lancaster; daughter, Marie Lynette Shepherd (Ruckdashel); son Jerry Eugene Ruckdashel; one grandchild, Jack Christopher Birch and one great grandchild Noah Kapena Bettencourt.<\/p>\n<p>Graveside services will be Friday, July 17, 2020, God\u2019s Acres, Clermont, Iowa at 10:30am.<\/p>\n<p>Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangeemnets.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clarence Eugene Ruckdashel, passed away on January 8, 2020 in Gilbert, Arizona.
