Bradley K. Boyle, 66, of West Union, Iowa passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his home in West Union, Iowa.
Bradley K., the son of Howard and Marjorie (Barker) Boyle, was born October 2, 1950 in West Union, Iowa. He was baptized at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clermont, Iowa, and confirmed at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. Brad graduated from North High School in 1968 and attended Upper Iowa University, majoring in sociology and psychology. Brad worked for Heying Farms, the Fayette County Home, Merlin Miller Construction, and Kaeppel Electric. He did day care for his young son and daughter. As they grew older, Brad owned and operated Hope Counseling Service and later Life Counseling Resources in West Union. Brad also provided in-home health care for his mother-in-law.
Brad was united in marriage with Charlyn Kaeppel on April 12, 1975 at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. To this union two children, Travis and Tiffany, were born. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and was a third-degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed listening to music, reading, playing trivia games, playing cards. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed sharing stories of growing up years. Brad was proud of his children, their career accomplishments and his Irish heritage.
Brad is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Charlyn; two children, Travis (Claire) Boyle of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Tiffany (Travis) Schmidt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren, Logan and Liam Boyle and Soraya Schmidt; one sister, Alanna (Mark) Levin of Oelwein, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Daren (Mary) Kaeppel of West Union, Iowa; three nephews, Nathan (Tara) Levin, Brian (Deborah) Kaeppel, Chad (Jamie) Kaeppel, and one niece, Alison (Sara) Levin; one aunt, Donna Barker; and many cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marjorie; and a nephew, Jason Kaeppel; several aunts and uncles, and most recently a special Uncle, Tom Barker.
Private Family Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
The Boyle family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the West Union Fire Department, the West Union Police Department, Gundersen Ambulance, staff at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Rev. Marshall Nessa and family, and the many friends and neighbors who have helped during these difficult times.
