Mary “Pat” Patricia Grady, Strawberry Point, Iowa, September 19, 2022

Mary Patricia Grady of Waterloo, formerly of McGregor/Monona area died peacefully on Monday, September 19 at Ravenwood Specialty Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Pat, as she wanted to be called, was born January 28, 1951 to Raymond & Frances (Ambrose) Grady. She grew up on the farm always tagging along after her dad. She graduated from MarMac High School in 1969. Pat was a proud veteran having served eight years in the U.S. Army as a medical lab technician. She was honored to receive her Quilt of Valor. She treasured it immensely. Pat also worked several years delivering mail in Clayton County.

Pat always had a ready smile and a hello for everyone she met, and everyone close to her knew she loved her Ice Mountain water. She loved to do crafts such as beadwork and latchhook. She also loved to fish, not getting out near as much as she would have liked. She also enjoyed gardening. Pat loved all animals, especially her beloved kitties.

Pat is survived by a number of first cousins, Caroline Drahn, Bill (Carol) Grady, Sharon Meisner, Mary (Gordon) Krambeer, Louis Mark (Mary Ann) Grady, Bernard Grady, Virginia (Mike) Zimmerman, Allan (Aricelli) Grady, Glen (Cheryl) Grady, Ellen (John) Mans, Peter (Jeaninne) Grady, and Marian Grady. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her special friend, Margie Goodrow, her brother Larry and an infant brother James, and several cousins.

The family wishes to thank Garden View in Monona, Strawberry Point Lutheran Home and Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo for their wonderful care and concern for Pat over the years.

Mass of Celebration will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Monona at 11: OO am on Tuesday, September 27 with Father Martin Coolidge presiding and co-celebrated with Father Bernard Grady.

Visitation will be from 10: 00 to 11: 00 before the service.

A lunch will be served immediately following the mass.

Burial will be at a later date. She will be buried in St. Patrick Cemetery next to her parents and siblings.
