Mike Ellis
Funeral Director
Michael Ellis, the son of Dale and Connie (Kelly) Ellis, was born in Postville, Iowa and raised in Elgin, Iowa. A graduate of Valley High School, Mike also attended the University of Iowa and Upper Iowa University. He graduated from Worsham College and served his apprenticeship at Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home in Davenport, Iowa. Mike lived in Tripoli, Iowa and worked for Becker-Milnes and Rettig Funeral Home for many years before returning to his hometown of Elgin. He has worked for Grau Funeral Homes since August 1, 2011.
Mike has three sons, Joshua and his wife, Nicole and grandchildren, Colin and Molly, of Grinnell, Iowa; Alexander of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and Courtland of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Mike is a member of the Elgin Lion’s Club, the Iowa Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. He enjoys listening to music and reading.
