Gerald G. Oyloe, 91, of Ossian, Iowa passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, Iowa. Gerald Gilbert, the son of Glen and Mabel Rosvold Oyloe, was born October 15, 1925 in Ossian, Iowa. He graduated from Ossian Public High School in 1944. Gerald served in the Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Wachapreague. Gerald was united in marriage with Ruth Kuennen on October 12, 1948 and had one son, Gordon. He operated the Ossian Grain Elevator for many years with his father and also worked for the Iowa Department of Agriculture before retiring in Phoenix, Arizona.
Gerald is survived by three granddaughters, Samantha Swink of Norman, Oklahoma; Carrie Oyloe of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Jennifer Oyloe of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three great grandchildren, Justin Swink, Joseph Oyloe, and Kayla Oyloe; and his brother, Robert Oyloe of Apple Valley, Minnesota and many other relatives and friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Gordon, his wife, Ruth, his brother Miles and his parents.
Memorial Services will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, Iowa. There will be a two hour visitation from 10 am to 12 pm before services at the church on Saturday. Father Robert Gross will be the Celebrant.
Inurnment will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Cemetery, Ossian, Iowa following services.
