Robert Havlicek, 80, of Monona, Iowa died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society, Postville, Iowa. Robert was born to Frank and Agnes (Miller) Havlicek on December 18, 1936 in Giard, Iowa. Robert was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona in 1957. He attended Monona High School.
Robert was united in marriage with Karen Schroeder on October 5, 1956 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. Bob took over the family trucking business that his father, Frank Havlicek started in 1945 and continued the business until 2014. He enjoyed driving truck and spending time with family at the cabin on the Mississippi River.
Robert is survived by his wife, Karen Havlicek of Monona, Iowa; two children, Sally Cook of Monona, Iowa and Dan (Pam) Havlicek of Monona, Iowa; six grandchildren, Dawn (Kevin) Wedo, Crystal (Jeremy Snell) Christopher, Shane Wedo, Kenny (Destiny) Christianson, Aspen Havlicek and Max Havlicek; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eileen Page of Harpers Ferry, Iowa.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes Havlicek; and one daughter, Cindy Wedo on February 15, 1998.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2-5 pm at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Monday.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa with Rev. Ericka Kielstrup as the Officiant.
Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona, Iowa at a later date.
