Leona Weidenbach, 96, of Marquette, Iowa died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Solon Care Center, Solon, Iowa. Leona L. was born February 12, 1921 in Farmersburg, Iowa to George and Ella (Wilke) Bruehahn. She attended school through the eighth grade in Monona, Iowa.
Leona was united in marriage with Harold Weidenbach on May 3, 1939. She worked as a cook for many years at White Springs, Country Manor and The Pink Elephant. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting the casinos, getting out whenever she could. She was very active.
Leona is survived by her son, David (Patricia) Weidenbach of Salsbury, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on December 25, 1976; parents, George and Ella Bruehahn; sons, Daniel and Freddie Joe; two brothers, Helmer and Eugene; three sisters, Martina, Juniver and Wanita; grandchild, Tammy and two great-grandchildren, Zeb and Ashley.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor, Iowa with a two hour visitation from 12-2 pm before services at the funeral home on Monday.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Iowa.
