Michael Wayne McFadden, 82, of McGregor, Iowa and longtime resident of Rockford, Illinois passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Great River Care Center, McGregor, Iowa. Heaven rejoiced as it welcomed Mike to his eternal home. Born April 28, 1935 in Dante Virginia, the son of John and Nora McFadden.
Mike was the owner of Silver Lining Painting and Decorating, and a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades for over 50 years. He touched the lives of all who knew him through his kind and gentle spirit and was always there to lend a helping hand when requested.
Mike is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughter, Georgia (Keith) Govier of Prairie Du chien, Wisconsin; sons, Tom (Cindy) McFadden of Palm Coast, Florida and Walter (Lori) McFadden of Minneapolis; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Tisdale of Marionville, Missouri.
Mike is predeceased by sons, Michael Jr. (Julie) McFadden and John (Carol) McFadden; sisters, Hattie Gobble, Frances Boring, Nell Gifford and brothers, Walter, James, Burl McFadden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona, Iowa with a Rosary at 9:30 am and a visitation at 10:00 am until time of services. Rev. Nils de Jesus Hernandez will be the Officiant. A service will also be held at Rock Church in Rockford, Illinois on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Walter McFadden residing.
Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois.
A memorial fund has been established at Great River Care Center, 1400 W. Main, McGregor, IA 52157.
