She married Dean Orvis on November 2, 1947, at Norway Lutheran Church. One daughter was born to them. Betty worked as a medical transcriber for many clinics around the country. She enjoyed gardening and reading; however, spending time with her family was what she loved most of all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and in 1969, her husband, Dean.
Betty’s family would like to thank the Elkader Care Center and Hospice of Comfort – especially Jean, for the care and comfort given to Betty. A very special thank you to Boyd, who was a God send to all of us!
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural St. Olaf with Rev. Marshall Hahn officiating.
