Cloy “Blaine” Schultz, 64, of Postville, Iowa died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in West Union, Iowa. Cloy was born June 7, 1953 to Cloy Jr. and Lorraine (Brown) Schultz in Postville, Iowa. He graduated from Postville High School with the Class of 1972. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He also participated in the Postville FFA.
Blaine was united in marriage with Sherry Zimmerman on May 28, 1972 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa. Three daughters were born to this union. Blaine lived south of Postville his entire life and considered farming a passion, not just an occupation. He was a member of the State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing and bowling. Blaine was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bears Fan. He loved spending time at the cabin in Harpers Ferry with the grandchildren and taking them for boat rides. Blaine also enjoyed taking the camper to Yellow River Forest and to Des Moines for the State Fair, cruising the backroads of Northeast Iowa, hunting with the deer bus crew, and having coffee with the coffee group.
Blaine is survived by his wife, Sherry of Postville, Iowa; his three daughters, Krista (Randy) Nebendahl of Monona, Iowa, Keyli (Nick) Keifer of Van Meter, Iowa and Katrina (Tom) Moreland of Urbandale, Iowa; grandchildren, Brandi and Anna Nebendahl, Makena Keifer and Cede, Rolyn and Thomas Moreland; one great grandson, Dennis Joe Nebendahl; his mother, Lorraine Schultz of Postville, Iowa; siblings, Jacque (Mike) Wilson of Rochester, Minnesota, Annette (Drew) Deering of Postville, Iowa; parents-in-law, Jim and Wanda Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Doug (Janet) Zimmerman; two sisters-in-law, Melody (Bud) Brink and Pam (Nic) Dunkel; and several nieces and nephews.
Blaine was preceded in death by his father, Cloy Schultz Jr.; and sister, Debbie Schultz Hager.
Visitation will be held from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, Postville, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Thursday.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel as the Officiant.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Croix Hospice, Postville Ambulance or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
