Therese Anne Donnelly, 91, of Independence, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Buchanan County Health Center.
She was born May 21, 1926 in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Clara (Sexton) Corcoran. Therese graduated form St. John’s High School in 1943 and was then united in marriage to Arnold C. Nosek. He preceded her in death. Later she married Leo (Dewey) Donnelly.
Therese received her B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her M.A. degree from Clark University. She then taught in area schools for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Leo and nine children, Pat (John) Freberg of Needville, Texas, Ann (Richard) Toale of Independence, Iowa, Mary (Dennis) Donlea of Winthrop, Iowa, Margaret (Brian) Leonard of Elkader, Iowa, Bridget Donnelly of Iowa City, Iowa, Dennis (Lori) Donnelly, Tim (Cathy) Donnelly, Brian (Kris) Donnelly, and Emmett (Delene) Donnelly all of Independence. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Kathleen Ryan, her husband Arnold C. Nosek and many relatives and friends.
The family will greet visitors from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery.
