Virginia Ann McGuire, 72, of Clermont, Iowa died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at her home in Clermont. Virginia Ann was born April 9, 1946 in Arlington, Iowa to George Raymond and Leora (Wenkstern) Bissell. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Arlington, Iowa. Virginia graduated from Arlington High School in 1964.
Virginia was united in marriage with Daniel Fay McGuire on November 5, 1961. Five children were born to this union. She worked at Atwood (Dura, Excel) in West Union for many years. Virginia had also worked at the Clerk of Court Office and at a Law Office as a secretary in West Union, Iowa. She enjoyed bowling, doing crafts, knitting, crocheting and made cakes professionally for years. Virginia had a large collection of bells, actually 4374 bells.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Daniel F. McGuire Sr.; sons, James (Eileen) McGuire of Granada Hills, California and Dan McGuire Jr. of Ames, Iowa; daughters, Donna (Craig Witt) Bulman of Decorah, Iowa, Darla (Dean) Klein of Johnston, Iowa and Juanita (Jerry) Lexvold; grandchildren, Paul (Rosita) McGuire, Kristie McGuire, Esther McGuire, Michelle Gonzalez, Hannah (Alan) Ocampo, Rebecca McGuire, Timothy McGuire, Ravon (Trevis) Thornton, Jane ( Dean) Ryderson, Joshua (Samantha) Bulman, Jessica (Thomas) McNamara, Jennifer (Ryan) Crain, Nathaniel Bulman, Luke (Monica) Klein, Leah (Logan) Landrun, Rachel Klein, Isaac Klein, Tirzah Klein, Asenath Klein, Zipporrah, Joey Klein, Christina Klein, Marquis Klein, Kezia Klein and Marianna Klein; great-grandchildren, Oliver Ocampo, Adrian Gonzalez, Alex Gonzalez, Jasmine Thornton, Averey Thornton, Dante Thornton, Kahlan Thornton, Dexten Ryderson, Blayden Ryderson, Lexie McNamara, Peyton McNamara, Jace Crain, Slade Crain, Kairi Landrum, Saadiya Klein, Ezion Klein and Opal Klein; brother, Earl Bissell; sisters, Viola Calvert, Clara (John) Pleis, Violet Guyer, Lucille (Bob) Terry and Evelyn Bissell; and nephew, Jake (Devin) McGurie and son Beau.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cal, Clarance, Raymond and Benjamin Bissell; sister-in-law, Ann Bissell; and one great-granddaughter, Jayden Crain.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, May 4, 2018 at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Saturday.
Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, Iowa with Rev. Phillip Olson as the officiant.
