Barbara Donovan, La Crosse, Wisconsin formerly of Lansing, Iowa, June 16, 2018

Barbara Ann Donovan, 66, of La Crosse, Wisconsin died Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Barb was born August 9, 1951 to Herbert and Edna (Monner) Donovan in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Barb graduated from St. George High School in Lansing. She later graduated from the University of Dubuque with her degree in teaching. Barb taught for years at Kee High in Lansing and truly enjoyed her work there.

In her free time Barb loved watching John Wayne movies, reading and collecting Garfield memorabilia. She enjoyed planning for and purchasing items to use for arts and crafts projects, even if she didn’t always complete them. Barb cherished every moment she got to spend with her family and the fond memories she made on the family farm. As a child Barb received excellent care at the University of Iowa Hospitals, and as a result, became a lifelong Iowa Hawkeye fan. She loved watching the Hawkeyes play, regardless of the sport. Barb’s cat Herkey was her constant companion.

Barb is survived by her siblings, Mona Eggen of Beloit, Wisconsin, Michael “Mike” (Pat) Donovan of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, and David (Mariette) Donovan of Oregon, Wisconsin, numerous nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Edna, sister, Sandy Osler, and brothers Dale, Roger, Jim, Larry, Gene, Pat, Ken and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Albin, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Albin, Iowa with Msgr. Terry Connors as the celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Albin, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to United Cerebral Palsy.

Barb’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice staff and the staff at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home for the compassionate and quality care they gave Barb.
