Roselia Ramirez Martinez, Independence, Wisconsin formerly of Postville, Iowa, January 18, 2019

Roselia Ramirez Martinez, 57, of Independence, Wisconsin (formerly of Postville, Iowa) passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Sacred Heart in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Roselia Ramirez was born November 9, 1961 to Ramon Ramirez and Juana Martinez in Michoacan, Mexico.

Roselia was united in marriage with Gerardo Hernandez in 1980, and four children were born to this union. Roselia moved to Postville, Iowa in 2001 and lived there for fifteen years. Roselia was vibrant, free-spirited and lived life on her own terms. She was fiercely loyal to friends and family, and was always the first to offer assistance to anyone in need. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, dancing and singing along with her favorite music. Roselia also liked fashion, and in her youth would sew and customize her own clothing.

Roselia is survived by her children, Adrian (Dawn) Hernandez of Clive, Iowa; Gerardo (Felipa) Hernandez of Austin, Minnesota, Belgica (Eligio) Hernandez of Washington, Iowa and Brandon Hernandez of Independence, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Britania, Elexia, Graciela, Faithlyn and Hadrian Hernandez, Brent and Gerardo Hernandez, Angelique Murillo and Eduardo Canales; her parents, Ramon Ramirez and Juana Martinez of Villachuato, Michoacan, Mexico; siblings, Hilda Ramirez, Esperanza Ramirez, Dolores Ramirez, Silvia Ramirez, Geronimo Ramirez, Rogelio Ramirez, Ramiro Ramirez, Ramon Ramirez, Antonio Ramirez, Jose Guadalupe Ramirez and Alfredo Ramirez; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Postville, Iowa with Rev. Nils de Jesus Hernandez as the Celebrant.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 before Mass at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Postville, Iowa.
