Steven Amundson, Lincoln, Nebraska formerly of Elgin, Iowa, January 18, 2019

Steven Dean Amundson, 58, of Lincoln, Nebraska formerly of  Elgin, Iowa, died Friday, January 18, 2019 in his home in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born October 7, 1960 in Postville, Iowa to Morris V. and Velma Hildur (Opsand) Amundson.

Steven graduated from Valley High School in 1979, He then went on to Iowa State University at Ames with a major in Ag Business. He worked for Cargill-Nutrena Feeds and as American

Breeds Service Representative until he started working for DaVinci’s Restaurant in Ames, Iowa location, then was relocated to the restaurants in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he work for the chain for almost thirty years. Steven was involved with many activities at Valley including playing percussion and various vocal groups. Vocal music continued to be a part of his life with musicals, the groups” Sunday Morning News”, Des Moines Choral Society, and Lincoln Lutheran Choir.

Steven is survived by sister, Janet (Paul) Wiles of Winston Salem, North Carolinia; and brother David (Dawn) Amundson of Elgin, Iowa; Nieces and Nephews, Mike(Kim), Jeff (fiance Elizabeth), Melissa Wiles White (Brandon), Pam Wiles, Emily and Thomas Amundson; and three great-nieces . He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, Iowa with a one hour visitation before services at the church on Sunday with Rev. Marshall Hahn as  the Officiant.

Burial will be at a later date at the Marion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gunder, Iowa.
