Goldie Zeimet, New Albin, Iowa, May 18, 2019

Goldie Zeimet, 88, of New Albin, Iowa died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa.  Goldie was born September 7, 1930 to Henry and Helen (Arndt) Thimmesch in Freeburg, Minnesota.

Goldie was united in marriage with Thomas Zeimet on December 29, 1949 at St. Joseph’s in New Albin, Iowa. She was a homemaker and had worked part time while her husband was in the military. Goldie was a tough old bird and enjoyed cooking and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children, Bonnie Zeimet, Patricia Coots and Michael Zeimet, all of New Albin, Iowa; five grandchildren, Patti Ann, Patrick, James, Thomas and Melissa; many great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Thimmesch of Marion, Iowa.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Thimmesch; husband, Thomas Zeimet on June 1, 2007; a daughter, Leonette Zeimet; a grandson, Charles Baker; a great grandson, Logan Habibovic; brother, Leo Thimmesch; and a son-in-law, Duane Kumpf

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Albin, Iowa with Rev. John Moser as the celebrant. There will be a two hour visitation from 9-11 before mass at the church on Friday.

Burial will follow at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Albin, Iowa.
