Robert “Bob” Earl Erdenberger, 91, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin died Monday, August 26, 2019 at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Robert Earl was born May 20, 1928 to Elmer and Mildred (Zabel) Erdenberger in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He graduated high school from Prairie du Chien. Robert proudly joined and served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953.
Bob was united in marriage with Mercedes Koecke in Dubuque, Iowa in 1951. They later divorced. Bob worked for National Decorated Metal for eighteen years in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, at Johnson Gas and Appliance Company as a painter. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and V.F.W. in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Bob enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, being outdoors and in his younger years he enjoyed roller skating. He was a CB and Ham Radio Operator.
Bob is survived by his children, Earl (Lana) Erdenberger of Rochester, Minnesota, Neil (Patricia Bunts) Erdenberger of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Marla (Mark) Jenkins of North Oaks, Minnesota and Bonnie Hanson of Mountain Home, Arkansas; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mae Hjelle.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin with Rev. Andy Doll as the Officiant. There will be a one hour visitation from 10-11 am before services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Burial with Military Rites will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
