Margie Ewing, Monona, Iowa, September 27, 2019

Margie Elaine Ewing, 90, of Monona, Iowa, died Friday, September 27, 2019, at North Gate Care Center, Waukon, Iowa. She was born September 16, 1929 in West Chester, Iowa, the daughter of Nellie (McFarland) Yoder. Margie graduated from Denver High School, Denver, Colorado.

Margie was united in marriage with Gene Ewing on January 27, 1951 at Forest Mills Church. Four children were born to this union, Nancy, Sandy, Marsha and Rex. She worked at Elmer Marting TV and Repair Shop and Monona Wire. She loved going to auctions, garage sales and doing crafts. If Margie was bored, she would be at the table playing Solitaire. Margie liked to collect everything, especially Barbie Dolls, teddy bears and angels. She was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Parish, Monona, Iowa.

Margie is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Jimmy) Schellhorn of Monona, Iowa and Marsha Reisner of Waukon, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Megan) Schellhorn, Heather (Duane) Lange, Nancy (Chet) Knutson, Nikki (Billy) Breimon, Trent Reisner, Adam (Heather) Ewing, and Jennifer (Randy) Hickey; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one sister, Edna Parenteau of Denver, Colorado.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ewing; son, Rex Ewing; daughter, Nancy, who died in infancy; mother, Nellie Yoder and brothers, Gene, Gaile and Paul.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019, from 6-8pm at the Leonard – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa. Visitation will also be held one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at 11am at the Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona, Iowa. The Rev. Deb Parkison will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Monona Cemetery, Monona, Iowa.
