Beverly Anne Bernhard, 70, of Monona, Iowa died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Beverly Anne was born on November 15, 1948 to Jack and Dorothy Sturgis in Michigan. After her high school graduation, Beverly continued her education, earning her B.A. and M.A in Music Education at Northern Michigan University.
Beverly was united in marriage with Gregory Alan Bernhard on March 8, 1980 at Giard Methodist Church, Giard, Iowa. Two daughters were born to this union, Molly and Suzanne. Beverly taught music at multiple schools throughout her career, including Milwaukee, Elkader, and Prairie Catholic. Beverly loved music of all kinds, especially musical theater and singing with her family.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Molly (Timothy) Kelley of Waukon, Iowa and Suzanne (Jim) Howk of Slater, Iowa; grandchildren, Olin(11), Azriel “AJ”(10), Evangeline(7), Seraphine(6), Eli (3) and Henry(1 1/2); and one sister, Barbara (Chuck) Ernst of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dorothy Sturgis; and her husband, Gregory on November 3, 2013.
Graveside Service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Giard Cemetery, Giard, Iowa with Pastor Steve Oden as the officiant.
A Celebration of Life lunch and reception will be from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at New Life Christian Church in Waukon, Iowa.
