Anna Mae (Thole) Donlon, Elkader, Iowa, November 22, 2019

Anna Mae (Thole) Donlon, 86, of Elkader, died November 22, 2019, at home in Haines City, Florida. She was born February 9, 1933, at Petersburg, IA, to Joseph Frank and Anna Mary (Millenkamp) Thole.  Anna Mae graduated from high school and then went to Mt. Mercy where she received her teaching certificate.

Anna Mae was united in marriage to Luke Donlon on July 23, 1955, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester by Msgr. Vincent Hovermann. Four children were born to this union.

Anna Mae was a teacher at Winthrop, Iowa, and an accountant for 50 years for the joint family businesses of farming, Dairy Equipment, Donlon TV & Appliances & Electronics and Donlon Investments. Her hobbies included computer, sewing, quilting, crafts, ceramics, silversmithing, lapidary, and golfing, to name a few. Most of all she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and Guild, Elkader, Iowa, and St. Joseph Church, Winter Haven, Florida, Elkader Golf and Country Club and Sweetwater Golf and Tennis Club.  She enjoyed many travels to foreign countries and all but five states, cruised the Caribbean nine times, visiting relatives and friends in many states.

She is survived by her husband Luke of Elkader; her children Jeff Donlon, Laure (Marc) Trenkamp and Mike (Rhonda) Donlon of Elkader; grandchildren, Jennifer Donlon, Jill (Brandon) Stannard, Mathew Donlon (Jessica Werger & daughter Jayda) Lexie (Austin) Ceaglske, Kelly Donlon (Bryce Sivesind), April Donlon and six great-grandchildren, Payton, Weston and JoJo Stannard, Grace, Grant and Grahm Ceaglske, sister, Sr. Amelia Thole and brother Ernie Thole

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her son Dick Donlon, age 25, on 6/22/83; brothers, Clarence, Ray and Larry Thole, and sisters, Rita Mae Thole, Julia Eike.

Visitation: 4 to 6:30 PM Thursday, December 5, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader where there will be a Vigil Service at 6:30 PM. There will also be visitation at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until 10:15.

Mass of Resurrection: 10:30 AM on Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader.

Inurnment: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Elkader
