Larry David Scott, 79, died Friday, November 29, 2019 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Larry was born December 24, 1939 in West Union, Iowa, the son of J. Donald and Clara Scott. Larry attended the University of Iowa, playing clarinet in the Hawkeye Marching Band and earning a degree in business administration. After graduation, Larry moved to Chicago where he worked in medical sales and later relocated to Arizona, working as an accountant for the City of Phoenix.
Larry was an avid bridge player and appreciated the beautiful desert landscape of Arizona. He enjoyed returning to Iowa each summer to see friends and family, visit the West Union area, and have dinner at the Ox Yoke Inn in Amana, always calling ahead to request a slice of rhubarb meringue pie.
Larry is survived by his sister, Barb Oldenburg of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nieces, Marcia (Dan) Hurt of Olathe, Kansas, and their son, Kevin; and Cheryl (John) Schultz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and their children, Molly and Bennett; and nephew, Brian (Rose) Oldenburg of Clarion, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in West Union, Iowa with Karen Schutte as the officiant.
