Patricia Jean Miene, 94, of Postville, Iowa died Thursday, January 9, 2020 at her home in Postville, Iowa. Patricia was born December 12, 1925 to Gilbert and Lena (Johnson) Anderson in Clermont, Iowa. She was baptized on February 21, 1926 and confirmed on May 5, 1940 both at West Clermont Norwegian Lutheran Church. Pat graduated from Clermont High School in 1943. She worked at Bishop’s Cafeteria in Cedar Rapids and helped on the family farm.
Pat was united in marriage with Paul Miene on June 18, 1946 at West Clermont Lutheran Church. Seven children were born to this union. Pat enjoyed being a homemaker and helping on the farm. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, WELCA, was a charter member of Bob’s Creek Neighbors, Monona Merry-Mixers, a Square Dance Club. Paul and Pat belonged to several card clubs. She enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening. Pat had beautiful flower beds.
Pat is survived by her seven children, Christine Miene of Tucson, Arizona, David Miene of Postville, Sandra (Arnold) McDowell of Punta Gorda, Florida, Michael (Marla) Miene of Postville, Julie (Dan Johns) Mostek of Rochester, Minnesota, Lori Miene of Cedar Rapids and Larry Miene of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Jeremy McDowell, Stephen McDowell, Andrew Mostek, Benjamin Mostek, Eli Swift, Shauna Horns and Katy Swift; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Paul on September 5, 2014; Her siblings, Agnes Kloster, Gladys McClurkin, Helen Kittleson and James Anderson; and her parents, Gilbert and Lena Anderson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 3-5 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel as the Officiant
The family would like you to join them for dinner in the fellowship hall following the service.
