Betty Jane Drips, 71, of Arlington Iowa, died February 5, 2020, at Gundersen Palmer in West Union, Ia. She was born on May 25, 1948, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids Iowa, to Lynn and Helen (Luker) Drips. Betty graduated from Starmont High School in 1966. She was active in 4H and showed Jersey cattle at the Delaware County fair. She later went on to become a 4H leader for Clayton County. Betty was united in marriage to Paul Noggle in 1998, after more than 20 years together.
Betty gave birth to four children, Pat (Kristy) Drips of Elkader, Pat’s twin, who was born an angel; Michael, who passed at the age of 4, and Suzanne (Kevin) Popham of Arlington. Upon marriage to Paul, Betty gained 3 step-daughters, Lynne, Michelle, and Tammy as well as many nieces and nephews. She dedicated her life to her family and taking care of her parents, as well as being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and much more. Betty enjoyed fishing, going to the cattle congress every year with her family, wind chimes, gardening, and handing out pop on Halloween to the community. She treasured every moment she could grab with her grandkids and great-grandkids and was happiest in those moments. She was living out her life with her special friend Marvin Morley.
Even as her health was failing she would not give up hosting her family’s holiday meals and get togethers.
Betty is survived by her children Pat (Kristy) Drips of Elkader, Suzanne (Kevin) Popham of Arlington; granddaughters Lindsey (Josh) Anderson of Elkader, Corinne (Brandon Harris) Drips of Calmar, Samantha (Nathan Ries) Drips of Edgewood, Brandon (Hailey) Janssen of Maynard, Matthew Janssen of Maynard, and Casey Popham of Manchester; great-grandkids Elektra, Jemma, Owen, Davina, and Amelia; step-great grandkids Mia, Harmonie, and Jayda, her brother, Joseph (Diane) Drips of Punta Gordo, FL, her sister, Mary (Mark) Tillman of Waucoma, her brother Roger Drips of Elgin, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Helen Drips, husband Paul, son Michael and angel baby, foster sister Dama, and step daughter Michelle.
Visitation: Saturday February 8, 2020 – 9:00 AM until service time at Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Peace United Church of Christ with Rev. Jon Haack officiating.
Interment: East Side Cemetery, Elkader, Iowa
