Dawn D. Fox, 71, of St. Olaf, died Saturday, February 1, 2020. She was born on January 9, 1949, in Volga, to Homer and Dorothy (Langford) Walter. She graduated from Elkader High School.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence Fox on January 8, 1966, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center. Two daughters were born to this union. For many years, Dawn worked as a supervisor/cook for Scenic Acres – with her girls. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. Dawn enjoyed her baby puppy Corkey, watching birds, NASCAR and Dr. Pol (he even sent her an autographed picture).
Dawn was a member of the St. Olaf Legion Auxiliary and Historian for many years. She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center, and also served as Memorial Treasurer.
Survivors include her daughters, Becci (special friend – Vern Plagman) Fox, Beth (Joe) Collins; grandchildren, Kurt (fiancée – Brittny Brynes) Gordon, Ashley (fiancé – Bob White) Gordon; five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ben, KJ Chezlee, and Leirah and sister, Sandy (Don) Buege.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lawrence.
Visitation: 3 to 6 PM Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Elkader and after 11:30 on Friday at the church
Funeral: 12:30 PM Friday, February 7, 2020, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center with Pastor Hillary Burns-Kite officiating.
Interment: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clayton Center
