Noel Everett Cook, 83, a lifelong resident of Postville Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 after a brief hospitalization and short stay at the Good Samaritan Home in Postville, Iowa. Noel was born December 25, 1936 in Postville, Iowa, the son of Everett Uhl Cook and Charlotte Jeannette (Bloxham). He graduated from Postville High School with the Class of 1954.
In 1955 Noel was united in marriage with Rochelle (Schultz) in Postville, Iowa. To this union five children were born. Noel worked as a lineman for the Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative (REC) for forty-one years.
Noel was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears, the White Sox, Iowa Hawkeye Sports and NASCAR. He loved his family and had a passion for the outdoors. Noel and Rochelle spent many weekends by “Bob’s Creek” cutting firewood. He also enjoyed taking the family camping.
Noel is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-five years, Rochelle of Postville; five children; Lynn (Terry) Hangartner of Byron Minnesota, Aaron Cook of Storm Lake, Iowa, Collin Cook (Brenda Rekow) of Luana, Iowa, Corey {Krista) Cook of Marysville, Washington and Dorn Cook of Gilbert, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren, Robert (Ashlee) Hangartner, Ryan Hangartner, Jessica Cook, Casey (Vari Carlomagno) Cook, Cody (Mai) Cook, Colt (Katie) Cook, Kayd Cook, Ethan Cook, Stephanie (Kevin) Bach, Sarah (Adam) Chumbley, Shannon (Chris) Hite, Payton Cook and Paige Cook; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Dixie Frantz of Lula, Georgia; his brother-in-law, Jack (Patricia) Schultz of Cedar Falls, Iowa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Private Service will be held at a later date in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
