Robert William Meyer, 75, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin formerly of St. Olaf, Iowa died Monday, June 15, 2020 at his home. He was born June 8, 1945 to Ewald and Myrtle (Brown) Meyer in Guttenberg, Iowa. He attended country school.
Robert was united in marriage with Judy Echard on October 7, 1981 at Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Throughout the years, Robert worked at various sawmills including Livingston Lumber in Guttenberg and Grau Logs and Lumber in Elkader where he later retired from. He was very handy in fixing things. Robert enjoyed a small hobby farm while in St. Olaf, Iowa, that included a horse, pigs, peacocks, pheasants and chickens. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends.
Surviving Robert are his children, Valerie (Brian) Heal of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; Adam (Joy) Meyer of St. Olaf, Iowa, Peggy Hepton of Iowa, Dean Meyer of Iowa and Dennis Meyer of Iowa; five grandchildren, Emilee Heal and Tenley, Tatum, Rowan and Rhett Meyer; his siblings, Leon (Joanie) Meyer of Viroqua, Wisconsin and Jeanie (Doug) Horton of Galesburg, Illinois.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Meyer in 2007; son, Nathan Meyer (1999); and his parents, Ewald and Myrtle Meyer.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa.
Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Iowa.
