Karen L. Mueller, 78, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Karen was born September 5, 1941 to Clarence and Arrah Lavon (Tieden) Polkow in Read Township, Clayton County Iowa.
On September 18, 1959, Karen was united in marriage, with the love of her life, Erwin Mueller at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader, Iowa. Karen spent her life helping and caring for others. She worked as a CNA, did home healthcare and in-home daycare. In addition to helping others, Karen enjoyed painting ceramics and studying her family’s genealogy. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien. Karen also enjoyed being a piece of people’s big days by baking many wedding and birthday cakes. She loved spending time with family, close friends and her faithful companion, Kitty Kitty.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Ricky) Fabert of Prairie du Chien and Vikki (Donald) Hafke of Prairie du Chien; grandchildren, April (Clayton) Smelser, Zakery (Ana) Hafke and Kaleb Hafke; great-granddaughters, Adelyn and Evelyn Hafke; brother, Keith (Theresa) Polkow; nieces and nephews; Kitty Kitty.
Preceding Karen in death were her husband, Erwin Mueller; daughter, Penny; and her parents, Clarence and Arrah Lavon Polkow.
There will be a Private Family Service.
